Fowler Museum at UCLA

The Fowler Museum explores global arts and cultures with an emphasis on works from Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and the Americas, past and present. The Fowler seeks to enhance understanding and appreciation of the diverse peoples, cultures, and religions of the world through highly contextualized interpretive exhibitions, publications, and public programming, informed by interdisciplinary approaches and the perspectives of the cultures represented.
This grant will support the exhibition, In Extremis: Death and Life in 21st-Century Haitian Art, which will explore the interface between the catastrophes of the past decade and the emergence of dramatically new forms of Haitian art. This show will run September 2012 through January 2013.
