Hammer Museum

The Hammer Museum is a fine arts museum and public arts unit of the University of California, Los Angeles’s (UCLA) School of the Arts and Architecture. Through its collections, exhibitions and programs, the Hammer examines the depth and diversity of artistic expression through the centuries, with a special emphasis on the art of our time. LA><ART is the leading independent non-profit contemporary art space in Los Angeles, committed to the production of ambitious and experimental exhibitions, public art projects and publications with both emerging and mid-career artists working locally, nationally and internationally. This grant was a combined request from both institutions.

The funds will support Made in L.A. 2012, the debut exhibition of the first biennial in the city of Los Angeles. This major city-wide initiative will feature the work of Los Angeles-based artists and is sponsored by the Hammer Museum in partnership with LA><ART. The biennial will take place June 3 through September 2, 2012.
