Heart R Art: 60th Anniversary Art Exhibition
On Friday, February 6th the Art Alliance kicked off their Diamond Jubilee (60th) year with the first-ever exhibition displaying art created by their very own members (or those related to members). Headed by the dynamic duo of Diane Bedford and Barbara Maxwell, the evening was held at the first home of the PAA (USC Pacific Asia Museum), and was a smashing success with over 200 in attendance. Throughout the evening many oohs and ahhs could be heard over the impressive array of art, and everyone enjoyed finding out about members’ hidden talents. Betty Duker did a masterful job curating the show, ably assisted by Lynn Myers. In addition, Julie Ward and Susan Caldwell coordinated the display of “Heart” Art in the foyer. The food from The Spot was plentiful and delicious, and the drinks (including “Valentinis”) kept flowing, thanks to the careful planning of party czars Denise Mathews and Marsha Bohr. A perfect way to thank the entire membership for their many years of hard work and dedication to fostering the appreciation of contemporary visual art!
