Hats are off (or should it be aprons?) to Co-Chairs Barbara Davis and Mia Dean who have successfully
orchestrated the Herculean task of putting together the 34 th Treasure Sale to raise funds for the
Pasadena Art Alliance. For four consecutive days April 11 through 14, 2019, the actual sale took place at
The Shops on Lake, but that doesn’t even begin to describe what it takes to pull off the “pop up” event
of the year. The final numbers are not yet in, but by almost every measure, this edition of the sale was
Months and months of planning with the committee, collecting treasures, enlisting patrons, securing the
location, creating the opening night party, marketing and inviting potential customers, setting up the
sale in just a few short days, fielding endless questions, staffing the event (and clean-up) with a smile
each and every day are just some of the tasks involved. The entire committee is to be congratulated for
a JOB WELL DONE! And somehow, in the end, the most common description from those involved is “It
was fun!” A bit like childbirth they say.
