December – Holiday Party

PAA members jumped aboard the Polar Express for the festive holiday party at the home of Katie High. Once again, Katie opened her beautiful and spectacularly decorated house.Marching up the front stairway were generations of wooden nutcrackers greeting us as we entered. Catherine Coquillard and Susan Reynolds welcomed guests and gave them their hand made wooden name tags, created by Susan. We enjoyed wine, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while eyeing the many extraordinary pajama ensembles.

Chris Boyer and Jack Reynolds, serving as conductors, added a bit of authenticity to the Polar Express theme.

Erin McDonald wore an elegant sequined dressing gown purchased at the 2019 PAA Treasure Sale. Carol Econn’s black velvet lounging outfit was perfect for the evening. Sarah Culhane‘s reindeer ensemble was decorated with blinking lights while Marsha Bohr was “devilish” in devil pajamas. When asked to describe her dress for the evening, Linda Brownridge said it was “an Oscar de la Renta interpretation of Keith Haring.“  Judy and George Penner looked snug in their twin flannel p j ‘s. Our treasured treasurer, Patty Zuber, wore pajamas decorated with Monopoly icons.

Francine Cooper and Elizabeth Berry thought the party’s theme was the Orient Express, not the Polar Express, and dressed accordingly.

All in all, the 2019 holiday party was truly a success. One person commented that it was the most comfortable clothes she had ever worn to  a party!

Thanks to Tina Nieves and Michelle Ratkovich for creating this very special event.
