EMILY HOPKINS SMILING BEHIND HER MASK AS SHE RECEIVES THE 2021 IMPACT AWARD CHECK FOR SIDE STREET PROJECTS.
Pasadena Art Alliance members were thrilled to learn that Side Street Projects has been awarded the 2021 PAA Impact Award. Side Street projects has been in existence for 28 years addressing the needs of the most under-resourced at-risk youth in the area through is wide ranging innovative visual arts programs. Whether it’s teaching wood working in a bus, teaching 2nd graders in the schools, facilitating design and fabrication classes at Pinteresca Library, or curating an art show by students at Continuation High School, Side Street is there. In making the recommendation for this award, the Impact Award Committee recognized the energetic and compassionate leadership of Emily Hopkins, who as one member of the committee said, “always gets things done.
