Treasure Sale April 2025
The dynamic co-chairs for the 2025 Treasure Sale were Alfrida King, Bette Cooper and Catherine Coquillard, aka ABE. Due to the Eaton fires, this year’s benefit was a large pivot. A traditional, four day event with a presale gala was felt to be too insensitive considering the devastating losses of January 2025. We thought it best to change gears from a full-on Treasure Sale to a more modest event and “Le Petite Treasure Sale” was born! An additional focus was added to this year’s event as we pledged to support Eaton Fire victims with a percentage of our proceeds.
With a new purpose and goal, we charged ahead with new stationery, a reworded Patron letter and drive but the same hard working, dedicated PAA volunteers. The Patron Drive was especially important this year. As this Treasure Sale was invitation only, this mail in drive would be the only opportunity for many of our past patrons to donate and we needed to capture that generosity. Many thanks to the Patron Co-chairs, Susan Crawford and Christine Bender for their hard work. The 2025 Patron Drive was a tremendous success.
To keep the venue smaller, invitation only and not open to the public, it was decided that the event would be held in Jeannie Vaughn’s back yard in South Pasadena. Tents, tables, panels and chairs were delivered to create the new booths as we set up our outdoor treasure event. As usual, “Room Mothers” and workers were assigned to manage and work the booths. Artistic talent abounds among our PAA members. The donated treasures looked too good to pass up and the event was a glorious success!
We are proud to have made donations to the Armory Center and the Side Street Projects from our proceeds to help the arts community. It was a unique event that we will never forget and we look forward to next year’s auction!
