January 2026 General Meeting

What a marvelous day the Pasadena Art Alliance had in beautiful Old Town Claremont for the January meeting. The San Gabriel Mountains felt as if we could reach out and touch them heading east under blue skies. We gathered at the Claremont Lewis Museum surrounded by the show She Opens the Door: Women Artists & Writers Shape Language & Space. Curated by Poet-in-Residence Chloe Martinez, She Opens the Door is a group exhibition featuring contemporary female artists who explore agency at the intersection of language and art. PAA reports were made with highlights including an update on the Art Auction 2026 set for May 2nd at the Pit in Atwater Village, and a reminder by way of our grants work and our financial accomplishments, that we are always reaching to be an organization for and about the artists, exhibitions, educational programs and the non-profit arts organizations we support. We walked next to Pomona College’s The Benton Museum of Art to wander down Manuel Lopez’s Art Wall Projects: 1 depicting scenes of life in East Los Angeles. Lunch was enjoyed afterwards at the modern Mexican restaurant, La Popular.
