The Long Beach Museum of Art is one of the region’s most dynamic and enduring cultural resources. It provides quality arts education for thousands of local school children, and offers diverse and compelling exhibitions of art, both in its permanent collections and in temporary exhibitions.

The Long Beach Museum of Art will receive a grant in support of California Effect: New Books from the California Chapter Guild of Book Workers. This exhibition of artist-made books will present a broad range of  book  structures, letterpress printing,  fine design binding,  and  a  diversity of book  arts,  including broadsides, boxes, calligraphy, and one-of-a-kind artist books. The California Effect will showcase  over 50 curated, new art pieces demonstrating  the  ingenious  and  thoughtful  ways  artists embed ideas about books into their works and delight those who appreciate its art and beauty.  October 3, 2025 – January 4, 2026
