LACMA is the largest encyclopedic museum in the western United States with a collection that includes more than 139,000 objects from ancient times to the present from all corners of the globe. LACMA’s mission is to serve the public through the collection, conservation, exhibition, and interpretation of significant works of art from a broad range of cultures and historical periods.

LACMA will receive a grant in support of Ground, an exhibition which highlights a diverse group of contemporary artists who use their work to examine the historical and spiritual significance of the natural environment. The living artists featured in the exhibition who work around the Americas and Pacific Rim, interpret their history and heritage through indigenous mythologies and motifs. The show is organized into four themes:  Identity and Heritage, Magic and Technology, Bodies and Environment, and Destruction and Renewal. October 14, 2025 – July 12, 2026
