The mission of The Galleries at PCC is to present high-caliber exhibitions of local contemporary visual artists and to provide an opportunity for students to view and discuss challenging works, interact with artists and arts professionals, and have their art exhibited to professional standards.

PAA funds will support two Artist-in-Residence exhibitions by artists Mark Steven Greenfield and Devon Tsuno. Greenfield is a luminary in African-American art and his work reframes historical representations of black people and the African-Diaspora in graphics, photography and painting into new works that challenge viewers to confront societal realities and celebrate cultural heritage. Tsuno’s art is rooted in the landscape and waterways of Los Angeles, where he explores the intersections of ecology, community, and representation. His practice spans painting, printmaking, and social engagement, often drawing attention to the overlooked rivers, invasive plants, and contested green spaces of Southern California.
