Education Outside LA Trip to Bentonville, Arkansas

For three glorious days, twenty PAA members, explored the unique offerings of Bentonville, Arkansas and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Crystal Bridges’ permanent collection spans five centuries of American masterworks ranging from the Colonial era to the current day. Included within the collection are iconic images such as Asher B. Durand’s Kindred SpiritsRosie the Riveter by Norman Rockwell, and Andy Warhol’s Dolly Parton, each reflecting a distinct moment in American artistic evolution. In addition to historical works, the Museum’s collection also showcases major works by modern and contemporary American artists, including Roy Lichtenstein, James Turrell, and Georgia O’Keeffe. The group stayed at Bentonville’s award winning 21c Museum Hotel, an oasis of contemporary art and southern hospitality in the heart of downtown.  Other trip highlights included an epic cocktail evening, James Turrell ushering in the dawn, dining at Bill Clinton’s “favorite” fried chicken spotand all in all, an unforgettable Arkansas experience for every participant!   Many thanks to Karen Hillenburg and Liza Kerrigan for organizing such a wonderful PAA adventure!
