Education in LA – The Invisible Teahouse Project at the Pasadena Buddhist Temple

A group of PAA members met to tour The Invisible Teahouse at the Pasadena Buddhist Temple. The Invisible Teahouse is a series of events and shows that explore the history of a teahouse formerly located on the grounds of the temple in northeast Pasadena. After World War II, the temple had become an important center for the Japanese community but was subsequently restored and donated to the Huntington Library and Gardens. Now, Mr. Nakagaw is researching the history of the teahouse and preparing archives of this important cultural center. The Invisible Teahouse project is supported by Side Street Projects via the Pasadena Art Alliance.
